Craigs Court Tomb AKA The Broadstone The Court Tomb at Craigs is situated on the western slopes of a ridge known as Long Mountain. As we approached the monument I immediately thought of the portal tomb at Ballykeel in County Armagh, it is very similar in appearance to a tripod dolmen. Like the monument at Ballykeel part of this tomb was reconstructed. The large capstone was placed over the first chamber in the mid-19th century and may not be original. The remains of the tomb can be quite confusing, so a small description may help. The court tomb is aligned NNW-SSE, with a semi-circular court at the southern end. There is an entrance, to a three chambered gallery, between two large portal slabs. The gallery was divided by jambs and sill stones. The tomb is set in a small oval cairn, some of the kerb stones still remain.
